The official announcement came out today. Two different chapters:
Alpha Gamma Delta is pleased to announce it will be colonizing at St. Joseph’s College in New York. Alpha Gamma Delta will begin colonization activities in February 2012.
St. Joseph’s College has two campuses—Brooklyn and Long Island. When installed, two separate collegiate chapters of Alpha Gamma Delta will be added to our chapter roll. Both campuses have an energetic, dedicated group of local women who are interested in assimilating into an international organization. Specifically, the Long Island campus has grown from a group of 15 to 85 interested women in a matter of six months. The Brooklyn campus has nearly 40 interested women. When installed, Alpha Gamma Delta will be the only National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) group on each campus.
“Alpha Gamma Delta has a unique opportunity to connect these groups of dedicated, values-based women to the leadership and personal development experience of our international sisterhood,” said Liz Harriss York, International Vice President-Extension. “We have been talking with women from each interest group and have been impressed with their drive and passion for the values and high expectations that our Founders set forth for our Fraternity.”
St. Joseph’s College is a private institution located in one of the nation’s most diversified academic and cultural areas. St. Joseph’s educates over 5,000 undergraduates, with more than 1,000 on the Brooklyn campus and close to 4,000 on the Long Island campus. The university offers more than 23 undergraduate majors, pre-professional and certificate programs.
