Rumor - Headquarters Move

I heard a rumor that LXA headquarters might move to Memphis?

Anybody know any more about this?

I have not heard anythingabout this, but I would obviously be very happy about that! We do have Pi Kappa Alpha and Chi Omega HQ's here.

Kappa Delta also has our headquarters in Memphis.

Interesting. I knew a lot of sororities and fraternities are hq'd in Indy but didn't know there was another big concentration in Memphis. Is it set up similar to Founder's Road in Indianapolis where they're all clustered in a development like a Greek row?

I believe Virginia has a few GLO Headquarters housed in that state as well. Can anyone confirm?

Kappa Sig is in Charlottesville, Sigma Nu and KA Order are in Lexington and Sig Ep is in Richmond -- in all cases, the town of their founding.

The Chicago area also has a large concentration of national headquarters. The north suburb Evanston, Illinois has 3 national headquarters all clustered right around Northwestern University's campus: fraternities Sigma Chi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the sorority Alpha Phi. AKA sorority has its headquarters in Hyde Park on the South Side of Chicago.

They are set up in a similar format in an area called Southwind. It is a mixed residential and commercial are with Southwind Golf Course in which the PGA FedEx St, Jude Classic is held annually.

And I apologize for leaving KD out, i thought there was one more, but wasnt sure.

Also AΩE - an engineering sorority

Our building in Indianapolis is getting crowded. That said, there are some practical reasons for staying in Indy but at a different property. I suspect that there may some additional things that we might want to have in a headquarters complex. If all we wanted was office space we could take a floor or two in an office building - but we're a family, not just a business and we need a home and not just an office.

Just me talking here but I don't foresee a move far from Indy.

Yup, I'm local and always like making a trip up to nationals!

LXA IHQ has a very small building and looks big on site-old one.

It is not and crushed for space in house.

They have land, but would cost a lot to grade it for expansion of building.
Most IHQ on Founders Way Road are small.
TKE bought a new big IHQ. Last Exec. Director got a lot of heat but is a right move.

LXA has a lot of memories and items that are not shown and have no idea how to! Some have offerd to do the many Badges, but what I have heard, are religated to a no where land. Heck, this is our History and should be shown or cataloged.

The reason is because of tax breaks! So can you blame them?

I heard from two different sources of a possible moves. Whether it will take place I do not know??

I hope wise heads will think long and hard where there might be a move.
With the cost of moving around the country, then look toward a central part of the country for travel.
What better place than in the middle of the country?

Central time zone would be nice. Can never remember what time it is in Indy; the local options for daylight saving is very confusing
