A former WLBT associate producer died from injuries she suffered when the tornado hit Madison County. 25-year-old Keisha Jones returned from Fort Worth, Texas to visit her family this holiday. The family was asleep when the storm struck. Nothing was left of the home located at 150 Stratford Drive in the Fairfield Subdivision. Four others inside were injured. Her father, Christover Jones Senior sustained back injuries and is hospitalized at University Medical Center. Christover Jones Junior was in the home when the tornado hit. In the aftermath,, he located his parents, sister and other family members and then went searching for help. "My father and sister were coming together to find each other in the middle of the house and within seconds the house was gone. My sister was complaining of chest pains, said something hit her," said Christover. Keisha Jones was transported to Saint Dominic's Hospital where she died of her injuries. |
She was initiated at the Gamma Rho chapter, Jackson State University. She is Pearl608's linesister. Soror Pearl608 has posted here on GC from time to time.

This is very sad. The community there was hit all around very hard. I was in Madison with my family visiting my parents over Thanksgiving. We were blessed that my parents house and subdivision was not hit (they live about a mile away on the other side of I-55). Dozens of houses were destroyed, several dozen others were damaged heavily. A mother is in critical condition and her baby was also killed by the F-4 tornado. There were many channels in the Jackson area that covered Keisha's story, she was also a cheerleader at Jackson State and a wonderful chrisitian lady. Praying for her family and those that were affected by this will help.
I am sorry for your loss. |
My Condolences go out to her family and friends as well as anyone else that was lost in yet another tragedy...
