SMU Loses Sister to Hit and Run Driver
Allison Rhea Owens was jogging in Tuscany when an Italian driver hit her and left the scene. After a massive search her body was found by the side of the road. The Italian driver is being held by police authorities after he was discovered later attempting to repair his car. An investigation is pending.
Allison was a Delta Delta Delta from SMU who was working in Italy. A candlelight service is being held this week in her home state of Ohio. Flowers have been left at her high school where a memorial has been established.
Tri Delta chapters across the country have sent messages of sympathy to the SMU members.
