NPC/NPHC Step Show
...
|
There must be a Zeta Phi Beta/ZTA Bond that we don't know about :D
At my alma mater, the NPHC Zetas actually assisted the NPC Zetas with learning steps for a step show. I think my sorors came in first place, and your sisters came in second! One of my closest high school friends became a ZTA, and I became a Zeta. I used to work in the Student Government office on campus, and one of the senators was a member of ZTA - and whenever we saw each other, we'd greet each other by saying "What's up, Zeta?" or "What's up Z?" A couple of times we even said "What's up, Blue?" since we both have blue in our sorority colors. |
I know that one of the Georgia chapters (ZTA) participates in their campus step shows. I saw their step/dance team perform at the Georgia ZTA Day about 2 years ago. They were awesome and (I think) won the competition.
You might want to post a message on the ZTA sister's only site to get a contact name. |
I had heard of, but never met a member of Zeta Tau Alpha until Greek Chat. I'm sorry that we didn't have the Sorority on our campus, because doing a service or even a social project with the "Zetas" would have been a real hoot!
Glad to see NPC and NPHC doing a bit more together! |
WOW! It sounds like it was a lot of fun. I wish I could have seen it.:)
Posted by brownEyedGirl Hey y'all - I was wondering if any of your chapters had ever asked NPC sororities to participate in a charity step show. This past spring on my campus, Zeta Phi Beta held a step show to fund their philanthropy, and invited all NPC groups to join. Sadly, my GLO (ZTA) was the only one who took them up on their offer to make a donation and participate in the show. The actual show was so much fun! No one in the audience (besides myself and my sisters) knew that any non-BGLO members were participating. When the Zeta's were being introduced, the guest emcee (a great ZPhiB alumna) announced that the "Zeta ladies" would now be taking the stage. About halfway through the performance, my Zeta Tau Alpha sisters (including our campus' Panhel president) came out to perform alongside the ZPhiB's, and the entire house came to its feet! People absolutely went crazy! When they were done, the emcee said that it's quite clear: ALL Zeta ladies have rhythm! I was so proud of my sisters for their hard work, and grateful to the Zeta Phi Beta chapter for inviting us to participate and spending time practicing with our girls. After the show, whenever I wore my letters on campus, some BGLO members recognized and greeted me! People had come from all over SC to watch, and some of the BGLO members even (jokingly!) asked my sisters to go on tour with them! We had so much fun and hope to do it again this year to raise money for a good cause. I just wanted to let you know that your SC sorors are wonderful, and see if you had heard anything about this event or anything like it. |
I'm pretty confident that I saw the ZTA chapter from Valdosta State University step in Atlanta, and they were off the chain!!! I think I was the only person to recognize what they were doing with their hand sign. It looked like they were throwing a "yo" like the Kappas, but when they brought both hands together, it made a crown - the symbol/mascot for ZTA. (I think it's official, but I'm not sure.)
Actually, the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho at UGA recently hosted a step show with NPC and NPHC, and I heard it was wonderful. I wouldn't expect less from my sorors. :D jojapeach Quote:

Actually, our NPHC has an annual stepshow in the spring, and this year our exec board, of which I am the financial secretary along with our council has voted to have members of IFC and NPC in our stepshow. WE are hoping that it iwll be a great successs.
I am glad to hear that you had such a positive experience in the stepshow. Khandicia Randolph University of Missouri-Columbia |
