Credit Hours???

Yo, what up? I know to join an organization you have to have a certain amount of credit/semester hours, therefore my ? is Do these hours have to be earned at that institution where you plan to join or does the student have to have that amount of hours period? This ? mainly relates to transfer students.

unknownflava- It depends on the organization you are interested in. You might want to check with a member of the specific organization.

unknownflava,
well since i am a transfer student and familiar with that rule- i am thinking that your hours earned at the other school you are transferring from will be okay. The rule in general- is mainly for first time freshman. So, they want them to wait a semester, and then by that time they will have atleast 12 hours or so. This is how it worked at my other school. Freshman werent allowed to rush until the spring semester because by then they would of had 12 hours. If you were a transfer student then that was fine since you obviously had some hours already, but the bad thing about that was that you needed a 3.0 to rush versus the others just needed a 2.5. That too varies from school to school because where im at now- everyone needs the same GPA to rush- it doesnt matter whether you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or transfer student!

Like i said before- this is how it worked at the school i attended and attend now. You might want to check with the specific organization like Zeta Ace said. Although i hope your hours transfer in and count so you can join sooner! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hi all, well it depends on what school u attend and the organization. The ruiling vary's from org to org. Check with the greek life office, and see what the actual requirments are, and if that doesn't help, each with the particular org u are looking to join.
Hope that helps
