iStalking

I realize that there are no TOS agreements or enforcement proceedures which unfortunately most folks seem to need, however, can we just agree to be decent human beings and not GoogleStalk people here? Is it really necessary unless they get personal first?

If they want you to know who they are on Facebook, Tw*tter, G+, Goodreads, or LiveJournal, they'll let you know. Trust me.

I agree. I also think the bolded should be met with caution.

But, the fact that this is a topic lets us know it is too good to be true.

I just ask that those who choose to GoogleStalk keep their hobby to themselves rather than posting what they find or finding some other way to make sure GC knows what they find. You are not the only person to find out real life stuff about a GCer and that includes those who know GCers in real life. Give this psycho hobby a rest.

Ditto to both AlphaFrog and DrPhil.
There's just no reason to go there.

So let me get this straight. What someone posts on GC is now off limits to repost on GC? I am confused as to what is now considered stalking. That post was her intro post to GC, easily found by clicking "find all posts by poster" a function of GC. I have seen many members of GC find old posts from GCers and post them in new threads. I think people need to not cast stones.

That's not what was originally posted. There was a link to a non-GC site.

This. Also, this thread is not specific to that incident. This discussion was started on a thread that was lost to the Missing Thread gods.

And DrPhil, I guess I should add that if someone gets personal and things start to come from off GC, further communication between those usernames should probably stay off GC....or at the very least move to PM.

Wow, what did I miss? iStalking is nuts. In college I physically stalked by a really bad date gone really, really wrong. It's not fun. I'm sorry for anyone being attacked in this way. And anyone who goes there is really sick. It's a friggin' message board. Try not to take yourself so seriously.

Wow. Really? I saw the original post this morning, and that's all that was there. Glad I missed it. Don't get the need to chase the poor girl down. I've said it before, if you put it on GC, it's fair game. Actively hunting stuff on other venues is not.

I take it the thread was deleted? Lemme take a wild guess who it was.....

The thread is still here. I doubt it was who you were guessing. It was probably a big misunderstanding anyway.

I think this general convo should remain a general convo. :)
