What Makes a Hater?
What seperates a hater from someone who is just opinionated?

This is How I tell The Difference
Hey all!! :D
DOVE1920, it's so funny that you ask that because I was discussing this recently with my students. They always fling "hater" around when it seems to me not everyone they accuse is being a "hater". They just seem to have an unpopular opinion. In my opinion, a person is not a hater if they can logically and substancially back up what they are saying. If a person feels so strongly about something that they take the time and effort to find concrete facts that support their opinion, then I respect it and not dismiss it as the rantings of a hater. It always seems to me that true "haters" always have something negative to say about anything. Most of all, they never have any concrete reasoning behind what they say. Anyway, I hope everyone had a safe a joyous holiday. I certainly did. ;) |
Good question
I would say a person who is just opinonated can validate why they like or dislike something. They can disagree without being disagreeable. Without malice or contempt.
A hater is one who has no bases on why they dislike something other then spite and jealousy. |
I think a Hater is someone who disagrees with you strictly because they would have done the same thing that you did but you beat them to it or if they had whatever it is that you have, they would do what you do or wear what you wear or say what you say. Sad, but True.
But, like the word Thick, the word "Hate" has come to encompass many meanings so even pessimists and dissenters are lumped in with the Haters. On a reverse note, there are people who were just created to be hated. It's just a fate with which some of us are cursed. :D |
