When getting to know the sororities, should I tell them about my low gpa?

my gpa is a little below 2.5 which is the requirement for say AST. there is an event coming up (the first event) where pnm's can meet all the sororities in one huge room and i like ast and would like to talk to them and what if they are interested in me too i feel like i should say something about it bc ill just be wasting their time and mine bc i know i wouldnt get in bc of the gpa.

I know enough from other GCers to know that the sororities will have an opportunity to review your GPA before making their decisions. You have a good opportunity to go in and meet people. So, why not? If you ultimately aren't selected because of your GPA, you'll still have had an opportunity to meet new people.

No. They'll get your GPA information from Panhel.

If you strong extracurriculars, talk about those. If you share interests, talk about those.

because they could still accept me even if they know my gpa is low? like if my good qualities outweigh my bad gpa and they really like me?

Yes, if you meet the minimum GPA required by their National. Then again, they might not like you that much. There are no guarantees.

It was the whole "I think I'll get drunk before I go to events..." idea that is getting to me. I pity the poor active who has to rush a drunk PNM.

It's not going to end well.

I am praying to the Blessed Virgin and all the saints that my sorority is not on campus.

I always tell PNMs that if they don't meet the minimum, they should expect to be cut from that chapter. Do some extend bids to women who don't meet it? Sure, sometimes. But that's the exception and not the rule. If you go in expecting for a chapter to like you SO much that they'll make an exception for you, chances are good that you're in for a rude awakening.

Sidenote: please stop posting so much and read more. kthnx.

2.5 is the sorority minimum, not the chapter's. I have never heard of there being any exceptions made in this circumstance. Feel free to go to the event, but PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD learn how to write (and use punctuation) before you even think of pledging.

And stop creating threads.
