Multiple Recs

Since I went to a college where a rec was about as common as a Kardashian sister without makeup, I have a rec question.

Is it generally helpful if a rushee can procure multiple recs for a sorority? Or would that be overkill?

Thanks! :)

I think there would be a point at which it's overkill, but 2 or 3 if they are really stellar and truly personal recs doesn't seem like it would be thought ridiculous. IMHO.

I think you should also consider "what does this rec add that the other one doesn't?" If you have one, for example, from an aunt, and another from a high school teacher, you will get a much more complete picture of the PNM than two recs from immediate family or a personal rec and one from some woman you just met through the alumnae panhellenic.

I guess it depends on the school. At LSU they seem to want at least 2-3. Anymore than that would probably be to much. I would think it would be about the same for most SEC schools.

This is what I was thinking. Oregon has a few more than a non-made up Kardashian, but barely. I think having more than one would be rather weird unless they were a legacy.

I always suggest that girls going to AR, Ole Miss, etc try to get at least three. If you know 5 tri delts and you feel comfortable asking them for a rec, go ahead. There is always the chance that someone will not get around to sending in the rec and if you have asked one or two extra people, then you are more likely to have the 'minimum' number.
