Greeks and 9/11

Several years ago, maybe 8 years, I came across a list of the Brothers and Sisters lost during the attacks on 9/11.
At the time I remember telling myself to save it. Of course, I did not. And have yet to locate that list ever again.

I did find the following list, which while I recall the other one stating that it was less then perfect, is perhaps even less so as I recall Sigma Alpha Epsilon losing at least 10 Brothers that day.

Still worth a review:

Thank you for posting this -- it gives yet another interesting perspective on the lives lost on 9/11, one that I had not considered. I want to reread this again later when I have more time. Thanks for your efforts.

Also deceased was Sarah Miller Clark, an Alpha Kappa Alpha sister from South Carolina State who was on the plane which hit the Pentagon. (She was one of the teachers escorting students on an educational trip.) She was also my 5th and 6th grade teacher. If I recall correctly, her sorority jacket was on display in a traveling centennial exhibit for AKA in 2008.

Per Alpha Phi's Facebook page, Kristy Irvine Ryan (Zeta Psi - Dayton) was in the WTC's South Tower when the plane hit. She graduated from Dayton in 1993 and worked as an equities trader for Sandler O'Neill & Partners on the 104th floor.

There's a nice story about her on Good Morning America's web site: Sept. 11 Victim Helped Poor on the Sly.
R.I.P., to her and all of the victims of the attacks, and to all of the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the ongoing wars.

Lynn Edwards Angell, Beta Omega-Auburn, was on flight 11.

I know we lost more sisters that day, as they were listed in the Adelphean that winter, unfortunately since 2001 I have moved 8 times, so who knows where my Adelphean is (I did keep it though).

Colleen Supinski, a KD from Susquhanna University was working in the World Trade Center when the planes hit. Called her brother who also worked in NYC to tell him she was OK. When the building collapsed he watched knowing his sister was still inside.

Lauren Grandicolas, Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, died on Flight 93. If you've ever seen movies on Flight 93, she's the one whose husband was in the shower and had to leave a message.

Her husband made a video on Yahoo! concerning Lauren. She was pregnant at the time.

Ditto. Thanks for posting this.

The video pulls at your heart strings. I watched it about a week ago.

My AGD Chapter sister (and roomie) was working at the Pentagon. I am so thankful that she survived. I think she had some cuts and bruises.

So many wonderful people lost!

Cathy Salter, Beta Pi of Alpha Delta Pi, Cincinnati '86, was working on the 98th floor of the south tower for the Aon Corp. She had made sure her staff left the building. Then she was on the phone with a collegue in the AON Cincinnati office after the plane crashed into the Towers and he asked why she hadn't evacuated. She said she was getting ready to do so right then and that she was in the second tower. Then the second plane hit.
