How much do ACT's matter?

If I have lower ACT's, like a 23, how much will that play into getting into a fraternity? I have good grades, but my ACT's just suck

i did, i have a 3.3 gpa, not bad. I'm just worried about getting into a fraternity

We didn't look at grades, and definitely didn't look at SATs/ACTs. I'm sure some fraternities out there will, but I think the majority of fraternities base their decision less on grades/activities/leadership and more on if you get along with the actives. It's a lot less structured than sorority rush.

Okay, I'm calling troll or idiot. You already asked this question in your thread about how test scores matter. Apparently you got dumber since that thread. In that thread you had 24 ACT and 3.4 GPA.

Well, we got dumber reading it, so that would actually make sense.

I've never heard of a fraternity asking for ACT/SAT scores. All we asked was that you kept your GPA up while you were active.

A 24/23 ACT is bad???

excelblue 09-05-2011 01:39 PM

He's probably not gonna get into any fraternity on some campuses; a 23/24 ACT, coupled with a 3.3GPA, will probably not get him in to the very top ranked universities, some of which have Greek Life.

23/24 isn't bad but it's not fantastic. It's probably in line with a reasonable safety school or a state school. I think things have changed since the dark ages, but 28 was the minimum to be a National Merit Scholar and 35 (?) was a perfect score.

Yeah I understand, its just the way he put it, like a 24 sucks.

Average is 19

24 isn't a very good score.

19 is average?

Holy crap. Among whom?

What do you want me to say, amongst the coloreds???

But actually I put incorrect info down, the average is 21. I confused it with the 19 they quoted in the example
