Pat Summitt (Chi Omega) Diagnosed With Alzheimers
I came out of GC retirement to post this. Devastating news. I've always admired her.

All I can say is wow!
That is so sad. My thoughts go out to the entire Lady Vol Community
Oh, that is terrible! She's an amazing lady. I had the privilege of being her server at a restaurant close to campus long ago.
Oh no! That's so sad, especially for her family, friends, and all her current and former players.
I've been stunned ever since hearing the news.
My high school friend was on one of her bb teams.
I didn't care for her as a coach because she kept beating Georgia, lol. but I do wish her well and hope that she recovers quickly. I think her being an athlete will help (hope!) |
I dreamed of playing for her from when I was like 5-15. My first AIM screen name was "FutureLadyVol" in hopes of one day being a Lady Vol basektball player. So upsetting to hear this about my childhood role model/ sister. :(
I am a Lady Vols season ticket holder and a Chi Omega. Pat always talks about the sense of "family" in her program. Today, I feel sad because of this news and how it is/will affect the matriarch of our family.

I had the opportunity to be with Pat Summitt during two separate functions this fall. In my opinion (and understand in no way do I know her well) I think she's doing well. I think she depends strongly on her support system i.e., her son Tyler, her sister Linda, her Assistant Coaches Holly and Mickie and her Chi Omega Sisters from UT-Martin. She seems more guarded and is certainly more comfortable when one of the before mentioned people is by her side.

I just saw this thread (I know, I'm an infrequent GCer). I hope Pat Summit deals with this the best she can.
