What's roll call?

I know fraternities do this as hazing, but is it just going to the house and they call your name and you say 'here'? I know I sound stupid but that's what roll call is in school.

My chapter does not haze, for us roll call is exactly what you'd think it is from school. If we need to know who is present we read off our roster and if they are in attendance they simply say here, no more no less. If you know a chapter is hazing don't waste your time joining.

Unless you don't care that you might get hazed, and you want to be in the chapter that badly.

Sorry, but this is a personal choice everyone has to make. It's not that black and white.

If soontobegreek is truly soon to be Greek, he has no reason to ask GC this question.

Exactly.

The issue with lumping all of this together and calling it "hazing" has been discussed a million times on GC.

Fair enough, how about we leave it at do your research and give your decision some careful consideration. Though personally my decision was "black and white".
