is it possible to bring greek life to a comunity college

glasscase2 08-16-2011 09:14 AM

It is possible. talk to you student of affairs and see if they would approve. you would have to start as a local sorority which is not a bad thing. I started my own at my school, which is an art institute. This is going to be alot of work, dedication and commitment.

good luck to you.

It depends on what kind of Greek life you mean. I don't believe any NPC sororities allow chapters at community colleges.

And I don't believe you would HAVE to start out as a local. That would depend on the policies, procedures, rules, etc. for the organization you wanted to bring to campus.

That's an understatement.

LOL.

I think this topic has been discussed on GC. There are some national GLOs that allow chapters at community college. I consider that unfortunate but whatever. Many community colleges have a lot of resources and organizations that benefit students. I don't see why national GLOs need to be among them. I think that defeats some of the purposes of a community college. Community colleges shouldn't mirror non-community colleges. There are intentional similarities and differences.
