Awkward rec situation?

Hello Everyone!

So my formal recruitment isn't until late September, however I am trying to collect recs for the sororities at my school. I have been asking lots of family friends and friend's parents and none of them went Greek/were in a sorority that my school doesn't have. I decided to email the chapter alumnae associations in my local area. I waited about a week and was getting worried that they didn't care. So I emailed another chapter alumnae in the area where my school is located and I didn't hear back either. After I had emailed them, the first person finally emailed me back and found someone to write me a rec. Apparently, there was a woman who knew my mom and wrote one for me. I just got this today btw, and then the other person emailed me back saying they would have someone getting in touch with me shortly. Is it weird to have two recs for one sorority, or does it make me seem desperate/trying to hard?

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to have multiple recs to one sorority, or is it not? Thanks :)

Multiple recs are OK. Be sure to write thank you notes to everyone who wrote a rec for you.

Depends on the school for multiple recs.

I'd say that multiple recs from people who don't know you or your family would not be good....

One of the women who wrote one for her does know her mom.

LSuz19 - It's not like you went nutty and asked 24 people for recs, so I think you should be OK.

thanks guys! haha I think the lesson learned is to just be a bit more patient next time haha! And when the other lady responded back, I didn't know if I should turn her away, so I just went along with it.
