"James Craig Anderson, a 49-year-old auto plant worker, was standing in a parking lot, near his car. The teens allegedly beat Anderson repeatedly, yelled racial epithets, including "White Power!" according to witnesses".

The teens were apparently unaware that the entire encounter was caught on tape by the cameras in the store parking lot.

Friends of the teens said that this was their goal for the night, stating that "Dedmon told friends they should leave, saying "let's go fuck with some niggers,'".

The teen showed no remorse later when he had been arrested. "He repeated the racial language in subsequent conversations, according to the law enforcement officials. "He was not remorseful he was laughing, laughing about the killing," said district attorney Smith."

My thoughts go out to the family. RIP.

You beat me to it posting this, though I was gonna be more trolly and say if we don't hear from Elephant Walk today this is why.

We've had two hate crimes within two days here, about a week and a half ago now. Link goes to one of them. On the plus side, yay for the sheriff taking it seriously and not waiting until it escalated until something as tragic as this. The other was a jail fight that they hadn't decided to charge as a hate crime or not yet.

But then we've had a double homicide - stabbing/shooting/domestic battery etc., a single homicide with multiple wounded and gods know how many random shootings this summer. Things just feel like they're not going well, and increased gang activity doesn't account for all of it.

Theres obviously a ton of white supremacists, but they get plenty of media coverage. However, Jewish (Zionists) and Black supremacists rarely get media coverage...and when there is, it seems to be quickly discounted.
