Hi All....(and have a question)

Just wanted to say Hello to everyone out there...I'm starting college this Jan and I'm really looking forward to enjoying my next 4 (hopefully only 4) years in college. I'm greatful I found a site like this.... it's great!!!!! My question is this....I've heard of so many stories about college life...and since I've lived a sheltered life..lol.. I was wondering about all those stoies concerning playing strip poker.....is this something that happens alot or when just a few of us get to drinking (like that ever happens) and some one just brings out a deck of cards?? Anyone have a good strip poker story....al least give me something to look forward too lol. Thanks every1 and have a great Thanksgiving!!!! John

I love my bros to death, but the last thing I want to do is see them naked. We have never played strip poker.

Killer

We used to play a card game called "Killer" (okay, okay if you don't think its PC enough, give it a new name). Sit around a circle, usually with low lights on, pass cards around, whomever gets the Jack of Spades is the "Killer". People announce that they are killed when the K winks at them. Everyone else has to figure out who the killer is.

I remember our chapter getting so hooked on playing Spades and Hearts that we wouldn't go to class..of course, I haven't played them since, lol.:)

OH JOHNNYB, the things that you will find out about and learn during your college years.... Congradulations and good luck, but just be careful and keep in mind the REAL reasons that you are going off to college. It IS a priviledge.

I'm an old-schooler (I went off to undergrad in 1988). Plus I went to a HBCU. So college is not like it was back in the day. It was (for the most part) all about partying, having fun, meeting people, doing your own thing, and, oh yeah, furthering your education. :) But it's easy to get caught up in the first four things mentioned (and that could hinder or even RUIN the fifth thing). Believe me, I DEFINITELY had my fun, but a lot of it wasn't worth it so try to stay focused.

I too led a very sheltered life before going off to college. I didn't have anyone to actually tell me about anything or show me the ropes (I am the FIRST and ONLY one in my immediate family who went to college much less get a Masters). I was just out there---basically on my own. I made LOTS of mistakes---ones that I wouldn't want anyone to make and the sad part is that I can't go back and change ANY of it. But, unlike many, I got my head on straight and finally finished.

You can believe that college is most certainly "A DIFFERENT WORLD". Have fun and all that, but don't forget that those times don't last forever. Take advantage of this opportunity (like I KNOW you will).

BE BLESSED AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

By the way, no, I've never played strip-poker, but I've heard some explicit stories from those who have.

Thanks for the advice........

Just wanted to thank you guys for the advice.....I really didn't mean playing poker with JUST guys...lol...I'm sure I'll meet ALOT of great people, guys and hopefully girls alike, and I'm sure, along with getting my degree, I'll have the time of my life!!! Thanks again, John

Not too much Stripping at my school...

I've been at college for 2+ years now and I've never been at a party or in a situation where people were seriously playing strip poker. I guess it happens sometimes, but it's not like this huge thing that all college kids everywhere are into. It probably depends on where you're at school. I go to a small college, and being known as a girl who stripped in front of a bunch of frat guys is probably not the best way to preserve your reputation. What I've seen a lot of, though, are drinking games with cards, especially a$$hole. That's pretty common, at least at my school.

Re: Twinstars

Twinstars,
Thanks you your imput....believe me, every bit of information helps me get ready for the road that lies ahead....I was just trying to get some info on what type of college life awaits me....But you make a good point, attending a small school, I'm sure gossip gets around really fast..our high school was the same way...I just didn't know with colleges being so much bigger if people were just out no matter what to have a great time no matter what, or if for the most part, things would be pretty tame and lowkey....Guess it just depends on the school you attend (anyone have any info on Missouri Colleges lol!) just thought I'd ask.....Again, thanks for the info......John
