Jack and Jill
 

Hey Soror's,

I was doing some thinking. I was curious if any of you were members of J&J and if so, have you considered putting YOUR children in. Why or why not?

I was going through some photo's and came across some pic's. Memory lane, you know...

(I don't have kids yet, but since 9/11, I've been doing a LOT of thinking, about getting married, having kids, will I be happy in my chosen career, what will the world be like in 20 years, etc...)

Forgive my ignorance but I really don't know much about that organization. I know that some of the sorors have their sons and daughters in the program but I don't know the meaning of Jack and Jill. What is the purpose of Jack and Jill?

Hi, Soror!

I do have a position on it, and it may be kind of radical and controversial for some. Before I post a response, could you share some aspect of your experience? I know a former Jack and Jill child, but she has never talked about her experience. I have limited knowledge of the organization through the book "Our Kind of People" by Lawrence Otis Graham, but I would love more firsthand enlightenment. It's always good to make an informed decision, but then again, it'll be at least 6 years before I have a child, according to my plan.
