ever hear of theta nu xi?

I go to a pretty small school with just 4 npc sororities, about 5 ifc frats and a handfull of nphc sororities and no local greek orgs. All of the sudden this new (at least to me) group, the theta nu xi's popped up in letters! Question for yall, if there is a theta nu chapter or colony at your school, how do they "define" themselves? Are the npc or nphc or do they declare independence from both since they are not "historically black or white" (as theyre web site says). I would love to learn more about this new group of sisters on our campus!

There isn't a chapter on my campus. I know somebody that just got initiated in Theta Nu Xi not to long ago. But she is a profession student though. Let me see what I can find out and I'll email you the information http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Pretty Cool bunch I must say, they are a multi-cultural sorority, but they are not apart of either council, if this helps here is the alpha chapters website.... http://www.unc.edu/student/orgs/onetnx/index.html

Hope this helps http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

There is a sister of Theta Nu on this board. Her GC name is PhoenixGrad. I haven't heard from her lately, but I'm sure she's around. You can check out their national site at: http://www.thetanuxi.org I've talked to PhoenixGrad before and she's very nice! I'm sure she'd be happy to talk to you about her org. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

You and me are talking about the same person http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif PhoenixGrad is really, really nice!

Someone is talking about my sorority on Greekchat! WOW! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/cool.gif Well, if anyone wants to ask any questions feel free to email me and thanks all of you for all the compliments http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I'm touched!!! See we multicultural greek ROCK! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif And yes ZChi4Life - I have been swamped. Work.. you know how it is!!!

Theta Nu Xi is not part of the NPC or NPHC. We are not currently part of a council. Like ZChi4Life and DGPhoney, the sororities we are part of are "diverse" we don't consider ourselves "historically" anything. We embrace women of all races, religions, creeds, and ethnicities. We are about developing sisterhood across boundaries. I personally think it's a beautiful thing! There's already too much division in our society.

Again, if you're interested in learning more..drop me a line. And take a look at http://www.latinogreeks.com. They have a long list of multicultural fraternities and sororities...as well as traditionally Latino organizations!!

AND BIG HUGE HUGS TO the wonderful women of Zeta Sigma Chi and Delta Gamma Pi - Greek love always!

Hello everyone! I am another member of Theta Nu Xi, directed here by our friend PhoenixGrad. As an aside, this looks like a great board and I'm sure I'll be back regularly.

I'm glad that see that you all are interested in our organization. Like PhoenixGrad said, we'd be happy to answer any questions that you may have. For those of you looking for the right organization, I'm sure any of our members would be willing to answer questions about our organization or to refer you to some places to find your own ideal. For those of you already a member of an organization, I hope that we will all be able to work together to improve greek unity and relationships in the future.

I have now been in the organization for a little over two years and it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. As an answer to "unforgettable"'s question, we are not aligned with either the NPC or NPHC. Multiculturalism is one of our central tenents and we try to define ourselves as truly multicultural both technically and in actuality by being as inclusive as possible, and to celebrate all kinds of people....their race, culture, religion, background, and lifestyles.

I am a founder of Theta Nu Xi and I just wanted to back up my sisters and extend an invitation to contact us for any info or to get to know us better. We are all about bridging those gaps that unfortunately run rampant in the Greek, as well as campus and overall communities. I also wanted to proudly announce Theta Nu Xi's fourth anniversary, tomorrow! We were founded on April 11, 1997 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and in 4 years we have come a LONG way, with 9 chapters and colonies and almost 100 members! Congrats to all my Theta Women!

Here's an early Happy 4th Anniversary to the women of Theta Nu Xi! Keep that multicultural love flowing http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Happy Anniversary Theta Nu Xi! & One love always :-)

Buck-Chi-O 04-16-2001 12:18 AM

Happy Anniversary!
I just wanted to add that my sorority, an NPC organization, is not really technically historically anything ethnically related. We were founded in 1895, so, unfortunately, we were traditionally white because of the racist society in we were founded, but there are absolutely no discriminatory guidelines for membership today. In fact, I go to a huge, diverse school, and my sorority reflects that. There are women in my chapter from many races, religions, creeds, and ethnicities.
Snaps to the multicultural organizations founded on these beliefs! SInce we don't have them at my school, I hope women realize that modern NPC orgs. are welcoming of all types of women, and that you don't have to be any "type" but sisterly to join!
