R.I.P Dan Peeks of America
 

Another one from my generation-- Dan Peeks, age 60 one of the founders of the group, America was found dead in his bed by his wife this morning. RIP

Thankful for some of the classics from America. My faves include Sister Golden Hair Surprise and Horse with No Name.

I hear "Horse With No Name" and I'm 13 all over again. Ditto "Ventura Highway," "Lonely People" and "Tin Man."

RIP Dan Peeks.

Sad. I love Horse With No Name and Ventura Highway.

I have seen America twice in the last 5 years and unfortunately Dan was not with them. He left them in the mid eighties and went into Christian Rock music. He was a very successful artist on his own in this genre. He will forever be remembered for "Woman Tonight" as it is one of his greatest contributions to America. Gerry and Dewey still play it in concert in his honor. He was a great musician and songwriter and will be sorely missed.

This is another reason why it sucks getting old.
