Texas A&M Kingsville (Texas A&I) Sorority Alumni

I am a current student at TAMUK and am interested in trying to get a chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha or Alpha Delta Pi recolonized. The campus has experienced significant growth in the past few years (two new dorms, rec center, dining hall, etc.) and could support another greek organization. If you or anyone you know could be of assistance please reply to this thread or message me. I have heard so many great stories about A&I and the sororities in their heyday and would love to see that return to campus!

First off, have you even spoken to your school's Greek Life office to see if they are open to expansion?

Not to mention that if TAMUK opens for expansion, does Zeta or ADPi wish to return? When the campus open for expansion a couple years ago, neither org recolonized. Alpha Sigma Alpha colonized at that time.

I just looked and...sorority chapters closed at a school in Texas in the mid-1980s? What on earth happened there?

If you'll notice these were many chapters that closed all through Texas during the 80's and early 90's. All I've ever been able to figure is the oil bust and S&L crisis possibly played a roll in the number of young women attending college and those that opt'd not to go through rush.
