Make your choices below. When you are finished, click "Evaluate" to see if you were able to balance the budget.

I did not balance the budget :(

I keep getting an error. I see the evaluate button before I start but once I delete some spending, the evaluate button goes away and I'm unable to see the result (without adding it myself). I think it's a conspiracy because the gubment doesn't like that I've won. They need to learn from me. I have now been marked for death at the hands of the feds. *hiding*

I would have made it if I'd cut out "other spending." Though I cut out lots of things that I wouldn't have cut IRL, I just really wanted to win the game.

Yay! But, for real, if I were in a position to make any impact, I would encourage the powers-that-be to drastically increase funding to nonprofits and also increase nonprofit oversight, evaluation and accountability.

Nonprofits do so much more with so much less than the federal government. However, one of the biggest problems is certain nonprofits taking advantage of their autonomy and/or failing to meet outcomes.

Nonprofits certainly couldn't solve all the problems (and would ultimately take work away from federal employees), but they would go a long way in helping.

Woo Hoo!

I just cut out social security, medicaid, and welfare.

I did not balance the budget.

I LOL'd at the sad Obama pic.

DGTess 07-22-2011 08:48 PM

I balanced it, but would have preferred the option to cut some of these significantly without eliminating them altogether.
