Santa Claus

Did you believe in Santa as a child? Should you tell your children it's a Santa?

My parents raised me to believe in Santa. I believed in Santa until about 9 years old, then the jealous neighbors told me it wasn't. I'll tell my children it's a Santa too. I also believed in the tooth fairy. I found a many silver dollar under my pillow.

I didn't believe in Santa but I did the whole tooth fairy thing. I doubt I'll tell my kids about him. I never really understood his purpose.

I believed in Santa till I was about 4, then caught my parents putting presents under the tree xmas eve. Caught my dad having one of the cookies I laid out for the fat , red jolly bastard, so at least they were trying to humor me. But, I knew it was all a sham. I didn;t even get to bed until early the next morning cause I was so upset, my mom had to rock me to sleep. it's funny, I can't even tell ya what I did for xmas 3 or 4 years ago, but I remember that one vividly. I guess things like that stick out in childhood. Not really sure how I'll approach it with my kids, but I know one thing. if I choose to lie to em, my ass will be in a santa suit at the time!:p

"Santa Clause"

As a child, I always believed in "Santa Clause". I even had the remarkable opportunity of visiting the "make believe NORTH POLE" which was located in Norfolk at the time. I stopped believing in Santa Clause probably at the age of 10. Up until that point, I really believed that Santa Clause came from the North Pole, rode his sleigh in the sky, being pulled by his reindeers. When I really thought about it, I said, "There is no way Santa would be able to deliver everbody in the entire universe their toys". Nevertheless, it's easy believing it as a child even if others told you otherwise. SOOOOOOOO!!! whenever I have children I think I will tell them the history behind "Santa Clause," from my perspective.

Santa Clause

I always believed in Santa Clause until I was about 10 years old and me and my brother who was 15 at the time set a booby trap for Santa. Basically it involved us rigging up the living room floor with strings and ropes and when we heard Santa we would start yanking (as we looked through the railing of the stairs). We were a little late pulling bc I got my head stuck in between the railing but after I got out, I heard my dad crash down on the floor yelling "What the *ell, and some other misc curse words" Then my mom whispering at my dad loudly to hush or he would wake us up. So to make a long story short, we got home from the emergency room where dad only broke his ankle and got a lecture about how my dad was one of Santas helpers. That was the year I got one of thosed funky wall clocks that looked like a giant watch.

I don't recall EVER believing in Santa Claus. While I have seen photos I've taken with him (and being rather frightened by the look of them), my mother told me quite early in my life that it was our family that bought the gifts, not this Santa person. The gifts would go under the tree as they were purchased and wrapped, so it wasn't like there were no gifts under the tree until Christmas day--hence, no Santa. My kids will probably also be told that it is mommy and daddy who bring the gifts. I would pray that we will focus on getting just a few gifts to celebrate rather than a host of toys they will never use!

It seemed like the tooth fairy took a little longer. I think I found my baby teeth in my mother's jewlery box and I realized she was the culprit. I could never catch her putting coins under my pillow though!

I did believe in Santa-we always had gifts under the tree before Christmas (the explanation was that there were so many people in the world that Santa had to start deliveries early!). At about the age of 5, I realized that this made no sense-plus, I caught my mother wrapping the gifts. When I have children, I will explain the basis behind Santa-but our celebration will be more focused on the Christian aspect of the holiday.

i did believe in santa, until me, being a night owl at heart, was looking out of the window and i saw my new bicycle in the trunk of the car when i was supposed to be asleep.:)

There's No Santa ? Who the hell has been paying my tuition????

You mean Santa Clause is not real:( . My mom never taught me to believe in Santa Clause, the tooth fairy, the boogey man and all that other stuff. She taught me to believe in GOD. HE is much better than Santa. I'm glad she didn't tell me that Santa Clause was real only to be disappointed later on in life.

I truly believed in Santa; I went so far as to put coca-cola bottles in front of the door on christm. eve to try and catch him. My mom and dad ended up keeping my toys over at my grandmothers house and then they told me that santa knew I was woke and took them over to my grandmother's house instead. It made christmas more fun for me as a child believing me santa but then I felt like a fool when my mom finally told me the truth because I had argued my cousins and classmates up and down that there was one. I would not be telling my child that there is one. Keep it straight from the jump.

i believed in santa too. i don't remember what age i was like: OK he doesn't really exist. i do remember this one christmas though i had to be like 8 or 9.
my brother and i put cookies and milk out for santa and went to bed. well every christmas before that we would help my mom and stepdad wrap other family presents and "santa" would leave ours unwrapped that way there was no confusion over whose present was whose.
well this christmas my parents forgot and wrapped ours too so when i woke up at like 7 a.m. all i thought i saw were the presents we had wrapped the night before. well i ran into my brother's room (he was like 5) and woke him up and told him crying that we were bad kids and that santa didn't come this year.
well he howled and we ran into my mom's room and woke her up. they were at first concerned thinking we had gotten robbed or something. but then they realized that they had forgotten not to wrap our presents too. well long story short, my mom dragged two crying kids downstairs and showed us that the he had been there. she told us that he must have been so into the cookies and milk that he had forgotten not to wrap our presents.
well thas my fav. and most cherished christmas memory. Ta-Ta!
