I was initiated 18 years ago...argh! For Big Sis/Lil Sis, we had Wheat and Cookie Day, Raggedy Ann and Red Day (Raggedy Ann was our local mascot at the time), one other day before Big Sis/Lil Sis night and then the big reveal. I can't remember the other theme to save my life. We all had to give cookies and a wheat themed gifts and a decorated trash can for the first day. My family had a tradition of making a poster with the first verse from "Every AOII is very different" written on it for this night. Raggedy Ann and Red Day was for a Raggedy Ann doll and a decorated chair. The last night before Big/Lil we got decorated bulletin boards and a plant. I think the night may have been something and Plant day. Big Sis/Lil Sis night we had to get a decorated full length mirror, a panda bear and a letter shirt to match our AOII family. We were allowed to add anything else we wanted, and we tended to go way overboard. You should probably make sure that everyone gives the same stuff but just personalized so that no one feels left out.
The method for reveal always varied from year to year. The string web was a pain in the butt and took FOREVER. My class had to do a candlelighting. We went in one at a time, and they passed a candle around for each of us until our Big blew out our candle. This only really works if you have big enough families where there are several sisters wearing the same shirt as the NM in the middle of the circle, otherwise she'll figure it out pretty quickly. One class had to search the chapter room looking for a matching t-shirt.
