From our summer issue of the Theta Magazine, from the Correspondence section:

"On behalf of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, I write to you to convey our tremendous gratitude to one of your Theta sisters. Recently, the white gold and diamond Quill badge of Ann Pettibone Briggs, Alpha Xi Delta's National President from 1926-1932, came up for sale on e Bay. The Panhellenic friendship (borne on Greekchat!) between one of our members and one of yours - both pin lovers - kicked into high gear, and Mrs. Briggs's badge was secured for a very reasonable price. This important piece of Alpha Xi Delta history is now in our archives for future generations of members to appreciate, and we have Theta to thank.

Took me a while to find it. 18k white gold quill with diamonds. The rose guard also has a diamond in the center as does the president's gavel.

I was very excited when I read that yesterday! My mind keeps pondering who those two Greekchatters are! :)

I remember when this badge was on that site and I PMed at least one GCer in high hopes that it could be rescued. I am SO GLAD that it did not go to a collector. Such a wonderful piece of history.

I am so dismayed that a badge from such a prominent member could ever end up on e bay!! I am sure that she never intended that to happen. Somehow a family member didn't understand it's significance. Better go have a talk with hubby about my own badge...
