Photographs - Inspiring, Silly or Cool

So, I'm much in love with The Atlantic's In Focus column and the photographs on it, and wanted a place to share a few (with link back to source and all) but figured this could be a thread for the photography lovers (and takers) to post things they come across. Big pics incoming...

So anyway:

Foreign soldiers leave the Intercontinental Hotel at the end of a military operation against Taliban militants who had stormed the hotel in Kabul, on June 29, 2011. Taliban suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul sparking a five-hour battle with Afghan commandos backed by a NATO helicopter gunship in an assault that left at least 10 people dead.
This one just struck me like the shot every action movie wishes that it could have.

The rest of the photos at this link are excellent.
