Isn't it strange that all the songs include Pi Phi's - but I have not seen anything on them with G.C? I guess they were top back in 1930 but where are they now= anyone have Pi Phi at their school?
|
Hi! I'm a Pi Phi and we have loads of chapters, mostly at the big universities where we do really really well! Most of our small-college chapters are older ones and we have lots of massive chapters out there.
A song of ours I like begins:"If you can wear and love the Pi Phi arrow, and not forget there are kites and keys...." I love that line! It came home to me last fall... Of course, I wanted all 9 daughters to be Pi Phis but the oldest got a full academic scholarship to a university with no Pi Phis. During the summer, it hit me with full force that she wouldn't be a Pi Phi and I grieved for months even though I had been a Panhel advisor, had scads of friends in other sororities, and knew good and well that other sororities are great. But--dreams die hard. She went through rush and got AOPi, her first choice all week, and is happy as can be. As a freshman, she was just elected rituals chairman and will be moving into the house. I'm learning to appreciate red roses and pandas and I'm truly proud of her and her affiliation! I just had a lesson to learn about not forgetting there are kites and keys.... |
Carnation et al,
Between all the Pi Phis (and Chi-O's to a slightly lesser extent) I was in love most of the time in college. They were spectacular! One of the most beautiful women I ever met (with the exception of my wife, or course) was a Pi Phi in my Freshman Honors English Class. I once met her younger sister (biological and sorority) at a different school and she was an absolute carbon copy. Amazing. I'm sure it shocked the hell out of her when I went up and told her I knew her sister without even asking her name. If my wife had pledged, she would have been one of the above. She had bids from both. Her parents would not allow her to pledge, though. DeltAlum |
We have Pi Phi at Southern Cal and they are an awesome house! One of my good friends from high school went Pi Phi at USC and ended up their President. One of my good friends now is a Pi Phi from USC.
Before I rushed, I thought I wanted to be a Pi Phi. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif But then XO called me home... as they say-- "You don't become a Chi Omega, you're born one." Its kinda funny actually, all but one of my friends--from all different schools-- is either XO, Pi Phi or DG. Amy |
Pi Phi is alive and doing very well at the University of Iowa, i'm friends with many of the girls, and they have a strong sisterhood - and always involved in community and school events!

Pi Phi is absolutely awesome at Baylor- they are pretty much number one along with Kappa Kappa Gamma- althought they dont have neither where im at now.
