If you are a registered student at UC Santa Cruz, but are taking classes at SBCC, you probably are allowed to join a fraternity.

Since SBCC is a two year school, most (but not all) NIC fraternities do not allow chapters on those campuses.

Some fraternities allow members from other schools, if that other school does not have a chapter. But if your campus has a chapter of that national, you cannot join a chapter at another campus.

UC Santa Cruz does have a local fraternity - they can do whatever they want.

What a fraternity can do is often different than what they will do.

Hello, as a UCSB alum, I am qualified to comment on this, although it is a fraternity thread.

modorney, the OP is writing about attending a community college and joining a fraternity at UCSB, not UC Santa Cruz. Few hundred miles between those two places.

OP: you need to speak directly to the greek life office at UCSB, as well as to the fraternities you're interested in. Each fraternity has its own policy, and the Greek Life Office may also have regulations.

While I was enrolled - NO. Things may have changed. Do your research.
