John Carroll U

I accidentally posted this info on the hazing board.....just want to mention that the newest Chi Omega chapter is about to be installed at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. The girls are psyched and from some reports we have heard the GUYS are psyched too!!!!! Way to go....

KKG installed a chapter there earlier this year as well! What a wild year for John Carroll! :)

Alpha Rho Omega
Delta Kappa Psi
Iota Beta Gamma
Iota Chi Upsilon
Phi Beta Phi
Phi Kappa Xi
Pi Alpha Chi (University Club)

Above are the Fraternities there now-

Sororities listed on their site:

Delta Delta Xi
Kappa Delta Gamma
Ladies of Columbus
Lambda Chi Rho
Lambda Gamma Sigma
Pi Sigma Phi
Theta Kappa

Does anyone know- are the Locals turning into National?

How does it work with Local and National Sororities on the same campus?

Thanks! Sue

Kappa Delta Gamma is the new KKG chapter

Sue - I think all the locals are turning into nationals at the same time like Valparaiso did a couple years ago. For some reason I recall KD talking about it on their site - check there.

Great news! I hope that this college I work at will be the next one you hear about that gets nationals!

Theta Kappa now Kappa Delta
Kappa Delta Gamma now Kappa Kappa Gamma
Pi Sigma Phi now Kappa Alpha Theta

The other two NPC groups are Chi Omega and Gamma Phi Beta but I am not sure what locals they absorbed. The Ladies of Columbus might still be the same since they are similar to the Knights of Columbus. Anyone know more details?

John Carroll is about 10 minutes from my school and I have friends there (one who is a new KD and loving it!!). When I went there on a tour, they said all the orgs were local and so on. I don't know if it's like at my school, where someone some time ago gave a ton of money on the grounds that all the sororities stayed local until 1980-something, but for a long time they couldn't establish any national organizations. Anyhow, I ran into my friend who was a Theta Kappa a few months ago, and she said all the greek orgs. on their campus were being forced to go national this past year, both sororities and fraternities (I know our Sig Eps helped initiate a chapter there). At the time, they were still in the process of looking at the different groups, and I don't know all the details, but she did tell me it was the University that made them go national. My guess would be insurance reasons and such, but who knows, I know none of the decisions my school makes ever make any sense at all.

If I hear anything else from her, I'll post again. None of the sororities here took chapters at JCU, so no one here knows what's going on either, but I'm glad they finally went national! :D
