The Theta Chis held a candlelight vigil tonight for Chris on campus. The other student is still in the hospital. This has shaken not only many of the students, but also the Greek community.

No offense, but it sounds like a dangerous situation for students at ODU, regardless of any greek affiliation.

No offense taken. It has gotten more dangerous as the city of Norfolk expands the campus. I am not sure what the solution is, because not only are the University Police presenting a large presence - but so is the City of Norfolk. It is a situation of the school starting to encroach on the "bad" part of the city. Although the last two big arrests for robbery have involved students from ODU and Norfolk State (Separate cases).

Not to hate on chris, he was an awesome guy and a good guy which is hard to com across these days.... but they really fail to add parts to the story of why he was killed. He admitted himself he was scarred for his life in the weeks before. Not gonna go into it, not gonna show any disrespect to him. I liked him, but he knowingly took certain risks and unfortunately norfolk is not a place to take the risks he did. Unlike what the news is reporting it wasnt a completely random crime. RIP

It seems to me that if you sincerely didn't want to damage his reputation, you wouldn't have posted at all or if you had good information about the situation, you would have posted a link.

I didnt want to damage his reputation. Like i said i liked him... i posted because my information is the accurate information that only the people who knew him had... he was a great guy who made a bad mistake is essentially what i said

You better hope and pray that the people who claim to have inside information on you never post teasers on the Internet.

Whether you had the inside information or not, why would you even write something like that about a fellow Fraternity brother? Especially a from the same school?

I posted the link to the initial article. As more and more of the backstory came out, it was apparent that Chris had a reason to worry if he stayed in that house. his father was quoted as saying they looked for another residence, but Chris didn't want to move.

It breaks down to this...Chris was shot and killed in his residence. His friend/brother was also shot, but survived. Either way, NO STUDENT should ever be murdered in their own house. Norfolk is not the safest city, by any means. Yes there is a big problem with crime near the university. But none of that should excuse what you just posted about Chris.
