I lived in our house when I was in college. We had a lovely mansion at the end of our school's sorority row.

I absolutely loved living there, and lived there for five semesters (or two and a half years). It was great. I have a ton a memories from those days and made lifelong friends (living in a house with 32 girls can be trying, but it is worth it).

I lived in for three years (wuth 55 other women) and I can honestly say that living in the Beta Delta chapter house was one of the best experiences of my life. Our house was in the middle of sorority row, which is on the opposite side of campus from fraternity row and the dorms.

From the day I pledged I was totally in love with our house. It is so homey and comfortable and it draws you in and calms your fears. The house is kind of colonial in style and is painted white with green shutters and a green front door. In front we have beautiful roses and flowers. Inside, the downstairs has a town girl's room, living room, tv room, house mom's room, dining room, library, computer room, little kitchen and big kitchen. The upstairs has 18 bedrooms that sleep 56 women. The 56 women who live in are definitely on top of one another, but that just adds to the charm.

There are always joys and sorrows in any living situation, but the great thing about living in the house was that there was always someone else to talk to, hang out with, order food with, go running with or bond with. If you were sad there was a shoulder to cry on, if you wanted to party there was someone to go out with. They might not have been your best friends before dinner but in one night you could bond through adventures and fun that would bring you together for a lifetime.

Now that I live by myself I miss that comraderie. It's comforting to know that all of those sisters are only a phone call away.

I lived in our chapter house and loved it. I got to meet lots of people and it helped me get involved with the chapter. I ended up holding two offices and living there for most of my collegiate career.

I highly recommend living in your chapter's house if you can. I'd do it again in a minute.
