Summer Classes and GPA for Registration
I'm sorry ahead of time if I'm asking a redundant question‚ but with all the threads about GPA‚ I haven't seen an answer to this.
I'm taking classes at my university over the summer to raise my GPA and I am also planning on going through recruitment this fall. I'm wondering if I should submit my recruitment registration now with my current GPA or wait till the classes are over‚ which is 2 weeks before fall semester (and recruitment) starts so I have the better GPA? It'd be a decent jump in my GPA‚ going from a 3.077 to a 3.52. Thanks. :) |
That's a question to ask your greek life office. In my experience, the greek life usually checks the gpa with the university and passes on the official university computed GPA.

be aware what the enrollment deadline for recruitment is.
and as AZ-AlphaXI said, speak with your greek life office. |
^ This.
If the application deadline is after you have your official summer grades in, submit your application and factor your summer grades into your GPA. Otherwise, submit your application, do not factor in your summer grades (because you don't know what they'll be - suppose you bomb a final?), and note that you are taking classes over the summer. The greek life office will probably double-check your GPA prior to recruitment, and adjust it on your application as necessary - and you can always mention that your GPA was a hair above 3.0 when you applied, but you took a couple of summer classes and now you have a 3.5 or whatever. |
