Help me I'm lost on formal recruitment!
This fall I will be transferring to Iowa State University. I did sign up for formal sorority recruitment after attending a Greek weekend but i don't really know much of how this process works. No one in my family has ever been involved in the Greek system, so i can't exactly ask them these questions. I am so nervously excited about the whole experience and I'm hoping someone on here could help me. What kinds of things should i do over the summer to prepare for the recruitment process? Is there a certain way i should present myself?(not saying not being myself but like clothes to wear..ways to do my hair) What kind of topics are "safe" topics? How do you know if a house is right for you? If you didn't notice I am completely lost so if anyone has any advice or any good information please I could really use any type of help.

While I can't answer some of your questions in an Iowa-specific manner, I can say that most of your questions (i.e. what topics are "safe", etc) have been asked before and you can find plenty of threads by using the search feature at the top of the page.
Also, please keep in mind that recruitment is a two-way street and is a mutually-selective process. While you may think that you're out there looking for the house that is right for you, they are looking for girls that are right for them. Try the Sorority Recruitment section and look at the "sticky" threads at the top. They will help you get started. |
