Froyo

I don't think we have a frozen yogurt thread, and we should, because I *love* frozen yogurt. I am especially excited because our local froyo place just got angel food cake flavor on tap :D

^^^Should this be my dinner tonight? Probably not. But it might be ...

I love it too! I got all my cousins addicted to it :)
I tend to stick with fruity flavors, for some reason I don't like the really sweet dessert type flavors (but I'd sample angel food, that actually sounds refreshing). Topped with berries and depending on the flavor, coconut

I like the "original" flavors that taste like the tart yogurt. Pinkberry, Red Mango and Menchies.

Oxford, MS never had a "real" froyo place until last year. Now, don't get me wrong TCBY makes some yummy froyo but nothing like YaYa's on the Oxford Square! I wasn't sure if I would like their "original tart" flavor but it is so good! I also love, love, love TCBY's White Chocolate! (What do you know YaYa's have White Chocolate today! Oh might have to stop there tonight!)

I am a huge fan of tart yogurt, sadly it is near impossible to find in the supermarket. Dreyers (Edy's for those of you on the east Coast) had a few flavors but they have disappeared. There's an ice cream shop in the mall that does a fake Coldstone with Dreyers hand dipped, but they also had soft serve fro yo. The only fro yo I can eat is the vanilla since it doesn't have food coloring. There's something satisfying about soft serve, especially with a random topping.

However there is a new mini mall where a car dealership used to be and there is a fro yo shop going in between a nail salon and a cell phone store. I am very pleased and now don't have to go to the mall on the other side of town. I'm also still mad about the TCBY that closed over five years ago, I hold a fro yo grudge. The place is "self serve" meaning one makes their own creation, so I'll have to see how I feel about that. If people mix stuff up I will not be having that behavior, keep the g-d butter finger pieces out of the mochi.

Does TCBY count as frozen yogurt? I thought their product was more soft serve ice cream than froyo.

Of course it counts! It's the country's best yogurt for goodness sakes :D

They have a lot of yogurt cultures in their soft serve mixes, so I'd say it is yogurt by definition. Same stuff that's in Activia except you don't have to be afraid to sit on a white couch with Jamie Lee Curtis.

I'll be honest I haven't had TCBY in years, and looking at their ingredients I wouldn't be able to eat much since it has artificial color and/or splenda in a lot of it. Their tart flavor is safe though, om nom nom.

I LOVE FRO YO!
Kiwi is my favorite place ever. I love Original & Pomegranate tart mixed together with fresh fruit and gummy worms on top!

I tend to stick to fruity or tart flavors for frozen yogurt too. Sweetness if for ice cream.

Also have recently been going to Campus Candy (giant candy store - love it - google it!) bc for finals week their frozen yogurt was only 25 cents an ounce which was awesome bc it was so much cheaper. AND you get to use the whole store as a toppings bar (ANY CANDY YOU WANT ON TOP!!! YUM!)

I LOVE frozen yogurt. I could eat it every day. My favorite flavors are tart, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, and green apple. YUM. I usually put peanut butter cups, cookie dough, and caramel cups. If I'm going for lighter, I do fruity pebbles and sour worms. Yum!
