UF Transfer Rush for Fall 2011
Hi! I'm going to be a transfer student at UF next year. Although I am a transfer I will have junior standing, I really only graduated in 2010 and it is going to take me at least 3 more years to graduate as I am double majoring. I know that UF has very competitive rush and I intend on preparing as much as possible and attaining all the recs that I need. Will the Upperclassman quota help make rush a little bit better for people in my position? Also, on the application should I put that I am a sophomore or a junior? Thanks for answering! I know that there are other threads on this but I didn't feel that they fully answered my questions. :)

The sororities will determine your class standing by credit hours. If you have the number of credits to be a junior, the sororities will see that you're a junior.

I would put in the notes of your application that you're planning on staying longer and sort of say why so they won't think you're just throwing it in there to up your chances as a junior. Explain why you're staying longer and not only will it tell them a bit more about your aspirations, but like I said, it won't sound as if you just threw it in there as a better chance to get a bid.

Upper class quota will be of great benefit to you. Just make sure you have recs for ALL the houses and keep an open mind during the process. Panhellenic works very hard in placing as many women as possible if you make sure you maximize your options.

Our upperclassman status includes all but freshman, as per our definition. So, it should help you.
Make sure to mention that you will be able to stay at school for the three years (like you plan), even with "so many" credit hours. |
