Is it all about looks?
I went through a few other websites where people talked about either my school's sororities or just sororities in general. It seems that there are fat sororities, hot sororities, butch sororities, and everything in between. I also see that every one has something bad to say about every single sorority. I hate that in my quest to find the perfect sisterhood for me, I keep running into negative comments. I am a bigger girl and I know this. I just know that I am focused on whether or not my grades, high school activities, community service, and overall impression is good enough, and now I have to worry about being too fat, or not tan enough to be greek? I see the good in the greek life but I also see the bad.
Anyone have any advice? Personal experiences with this? I know people say recruitment isn't about physical appearance, but more rather than how you present yourself with dressing nicely and conducting a lady-like manner but after reading comments, I assume otherwise. |
Oh, my. Get your stuff together that you need for recruitment and go through recruitment with an open mind.
Also, stop going to those sites. They're fucking awful. |

Have you done any reading of the many recruitment-related threads here?

Wow. I don't want to seem insecure. I guess I came off that way. All I wanted was to get some of the stereotypes I've heard about, cleared up. I'm very open minded and very confident.

Stereotypes = bad news bears, amiga. Stay away from them.

Nope. You could be a perfect 10 in the looks dept. but it really won't matter much if you are, say, a raging BITCH with a bad attitude.
Oh yeah, and I suggest you do some reading: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ght=appearance http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ght=appearance |

What's with your user name if you aren't even Greek? That's pretty presumptuous.

I hate that I came here to get advice and learn about sororities and recruitment and god forbid, I ask a question and I get anything but answers.
|
Uh, what?

1. Stop looking at those web sites. They are full of evil. Concentrate on yourself and the things you can control. 2. Be yourself in recruitment. You will have a much better chance of finding a home. 3. Relax. Every recruitment is stressful but your school isn't exactly on par with Ole Miss, Bama, Texas etc. 4. Stop whining. It will not endear you to the people here. |
