VH1's Love and Hip Hop
This is a real show. ;) http://www.vh1.com/shows/love_and_hip_hop/series.jhtml
Some of us absolutely love this show. 1. I always thought Jim Jones (the rapper) was a hottie (as well as Juelz Santana). I respect his business sense and his rap style because of his voice. I don't like his music but his primary job is not a rapper. He's a producer, video director, etc. It's good to see him on this show. 2. Chrissy--Jones' "girlfriend"--seems cool. I can understand that she takes their relationship very seriously and wants to look out for him. She's also pretty. 3. Somaya--the tall wannabe woman rapper--SUCKS. She's gorgeous and tall as heck but her MUSIC SUCKKKKKKKS. She's worse than Nicki Minaj (other than her verse in "Monster"). It was hilarious that Jim Jones listened to his girlfriend and dropped this potential rapper. It was sad that she was about to cry when he told her. I wonder what came of that...did he sex her...did he agree to produce a track...will she be in future episodes so that she can fight with Jones' lady? 4. Emily--Fabolous' (ya know, the guy who had us doubting our spelling skills) lady and mother of his child-- is dumb. Pretty. But, dumb. The end. 5. I like Olivia. I always liked her. It's good to see her back and getting back in the game. I wish her career well. She's also still very pretty. 6. Yaaaaaay @ Mashonda. I always liked her voice and her music. As for Swizz Beats, most of us don't know the full story, but she's a good one because I would've wanted to beat the crap out of Swizz and Alicia Keys. Like women prison inmates say "your face ain't pregnant." I'm jokingly serious. And it wouldn't have been fighting for Swizz Beats. It would've been general purpose fighting. Word, son. |
I also liked how Jones handled that dumbass dude who was Emily's (I assume hers and not Olivia's) manager. He was running his mouth about Chrissy and Jones.
I respect Jones making him apologize in front of the cameras. LOL. I also appreciate that he kept telling his goons not to touch the manager because Jones didn't want to assault him. Like that other guy said in that episode, some of these people are street people who made it into the hip hop business world. They take respect very seriously and their relationships very seriously. That goes for both Chrissy and Jones. That doesn't mean that they can't get their butt whooped by someone from the street or not from the street--everyone meets their match--but you don't want to mess with these people just for the helluvit. |
I haven't seen this, yet. Seeing as how I love trashy VH1 shows-I probably will. When I do, I will be posting more in this thread. Thanks for adding to my trash-tv addiction. I appreciate it. ;)

Oh and why does Somaya and Nicki Minaj remind me of eachother in the face and voice? And Chrissy is my girl! |

Alicia Keys better pray that she isn't the next one to fall victim to the Swizz. Somaya sounds just like Nicki Minaj. It really bothers me. |

New episode tonight @ 8:00. Somaya and Chrissy are going to go at it. :D
I'm watching a previous episode (the first episode?) and have some additional thoughts on this show. LOL. Jim Jones was honest when he said that her career is possible because Somaya's pretty. Somaya's silly self later asked her manager "am I selling music or selling sex?" That better have been rhetorical. Attractive artists are selling both unless they go out of their way to overshadow their looks. Somaya overshadows her looks by wearing too much makeup and looking like a drag queen. Other than that, her music is terrible (regardless of whether she has vocal and instrumentalist talents) therefore it will always be about her looks. |
:( @ Mashonda's story
:( :) @ Emily's story and self-realization  @ Somaya...bitch be gone. @ them meeting Somaya for drinks. I guess the producers insisted on that one. Somaya and Chrissy seemed cool and then Somaya went at Olivia. It was lackluster and silly on Somaya's part. Chrissy and Olivia walked away and Olivia said (in reference to Somaya) "thanks for the drink, bitch." I chuckled. What Olivia said to Emily: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_uVCNj8m5A |
This show is reminding me why I don't watch Reality TV.
"They tried to taze me." -- Oh, ok. For real -- who are these people? Lol |

You didn't notice the complete difference in theme? Did you not notice that they were preparing a hair show and Love & Hip Hop isn't about that?!
