Thanksgiving

Well ladies, now that Turkey Day is coming up, (next week! I can't believe it!) I would love to know what each of you has planned for the holiday.

I myself will be going with husband and puppy to my sister-in-law's house. I've never been to Thanksgiving at my in-laws before, so I think it will be fun! The spread of food is legendary, LOL.

We're also considering a quick spree to Las Vegas! I really hope we do that, too! Haven't been to Vegas in a few years, and I always have a great time...even though I don't gamble.

I'm heading home to my parents tomorrow (Friday) (with computer in tow, of course). I do not look forward to the 3.5 hour drive.

Basicly it will be a week of studying for finals, focused on my organizational behavior class. That professor is the devil himself! :P

I look foward to home cooking. yay. :D

Oh yeah, and I'll be getting my last wisdom tooth out on Monday. Joy!

I am going with my family to West Memphis Arkansas to see my grandmother and aunt. Yeah- (Arkansas is the armpit of America). But Memphis TN is only ten minutes away so one night we are going to Beale street and then one night we are going to Tunica to gamble. I went to Las Vegas in March and it was a blast. BEAUTIFUL!!! I wanted to visit our chapter there but there wasnt any time! We stayed at the Paris and I would definitly recommend it!

I plan to go to my sister's house for Thanksgiving itself. She will have her in-laws (including: her bro. in law and his family). This will be very interesting!!!!! My parents are staying with me at my house. Then we are driving to my sister's. About an hour away.

We usually all go to my parents' house. So this will be new to all of us. Lisa

Jeannine, my brother Bret, my parents, and I are going up to one of my aunts in Maryland forThanksgiving. I thought we were going to just have dinner out but apparently plans were just made to have it. We usually have it with the relatives anyway. Its pretty cool. Just your typical thanksgiving where the guys are around the t.v. and the women are by the kitchen. The last few years though the women made a new rule that we have to take some time out to play a board game. I wish we could bring my dog teddy(jack russell terrier) but we decided not to. Hes a very hyper dog. One time he went into my moms purse and tore up her money. My mom got it pieced back together but that was a pretty interesting event. He only did that once though. Anways, I can hardly wait for that turkey :) Especially moms pie :)

2001's been a crappy year for me and my family, but there are still lots of things to be thankful for this year.

This year...I'm going to not one...not two...but three Thanksgiving dinners!

We're going to have a small pre-dinner dinner at my house..and yours truly (as always) will be cooking! Afterward, my mom and I are heading off to the Governor's mansion for our 2nd Turkey day dinner. We usually don't go because personally I can't stand him, but because this is his last term in office we figured we might as well take advantage of this one last time.

After all of that, if I'm not all gross and bloated me and my new flavor of the month (who happens to be a TKE) are meeting up with the brothers for a post-dinner celebration.

I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving Day holiday!

LIEP,
Sandy

Well since he is a TKE there is a good chance he might become more than a flavor of the month. My flavor of the month(who happend to be an Alpha Gam) became my flavor of 2 years and hopefully one day the flavor of the rest of my life.:D

Sandy,

I must have missed something somewhere along the line. How do you know Ben Cayetano?

When we were in Hawaii, all our tour guides, etc., were complaining about him because all the facilities for the really popular tourist areas were substandard in their eyes. All I remember is that when we were on our way back from Hana...the public bathrooms were simply NOT THERE!

LOL, tell the good governor that your sister nearly had an accident of the liquid kind in Maui last year.

Well..we finally got the sis&bro in law and then my bro and his girls off...first time in over a week we've had to ourselves. Hubby isn't actually working this holiday so we are going to splurge and go to this fancy schmany rest. in an old southern mansion that we've been trying to get to for 6 years, lol!

Y'all be careful out there, ya here!:)

Going to Buffalo to visit the grands, and on Monday I had a pre-Thanks dinner a good friend of mine, her roomates and some of their friends. It was the best time I ever had probably. I made the mash potatoes with Parmasan and Graden Veggie Cream cheese, and everyone liked them alot. Woohoo I can cook!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I know that I already posted this in another AGD thread, but I just wanted to wish my wonderful American sisters a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

With everything that has happened this year, regardless of where we are/were, there is sooo much to be thankful for :)

Even though it's not Turkey day up here in Canada, I still wanted to share with you all one of the things that I'm most thankful for, which is this very website ... though I don't post often (let's just say that I too am a gc 'addict', visiting this site QUITE often!!), you can be sure that I am reading your posts religiously.

Though we've never met, I feel that I've gotten to know many of you well thru your postings ... it's a cool feeling, knowing that we share such a special bond in A G D. You all are truly amazing women :)

** climbing off my soapbox now ** excuse the cheesiness of my post, but hey - it's the truth :D

I hope I don't confuse anyone here...

My father married three times. My father married Ben's mother (she was his second wife) in the 1950s-60s and helped put Ben through college and then eventually law school. Though they were not related by blood, Ben had a strong relationship with my father that lasted up until his passing in 1990.

Ever since I can remember I've been to every campaign fundraiser, election night party, Thanksgiving/Xmas dinner he's hosted. His grandson also happens to be one of my best friends.

Ben's been losing fan support within the past year or so. With the way things are in my state, I think it's unfortunate that this will be his last term...although there are many who are ready to get him out of office!

Oh and Brandon...I've been having a string of first dates lately, so when me and my TKE went on the second and third dates...you bet I was happy! I think cheesie poofs are cute!!!
