Asking you all a huge favor...
 

Hey everyone,

As some of you know, I am in the midst of applying to college right now (which is why I have been absent on GC). I am asking you all a huge favor, but I'm hoping that some of you can help me :). I was hoping that some GCers could help me out by reading my personal statement (admissions essay), and give me feedback on it - what you think about it, suggestions, etc. (Don't worry, you won't have to correct grammar; grammar is usually my strength.)

The reason why I'm asking you all is b/c most of you have never met me in person before - which is perfect, b/c the admissions officers that will be reading my essay will be complete strangers. I hope that, from reading the essay, you can tell me what you have discovered about me.

I realize this is asking quite a lot, and if you can help me, I will be SO VERY GRATEFUL. I desperately want feedback; all the suggestions that I can get will be helpful. Don't worry about offending me with criticism; the whole point of this is to help me get into my first-choice (and second, and third, etc.) college.

It should take 20 minutes tops (probably a lot less), and I'm hoping that those of you who volunteer to help me don't mind English or are at least somewhat good at the subject (that will help). The essay shouldn't be boring at all - I'm actually hoping it will be quite entertaining. (Since that was one of my goals for the essay - to make it interesting for the reader.)

Again, I will be SO HAPPY if any of you could help me. It doesn't matter if I've never "talked" to you on GC before - in fact, it would probably help even more.
