my roommate and I created a website
Hey Everyone,
(I'm Gabe and I'm new here) My roommate and I created a website fairly recently ago (this sunday marks second week of launch) and so far we have a lot of members so I thought I'd share the link (I'd really appreciate any and all constructive criticism). Premise: So you view 3 random people at a time and can cycle through (based on gender, orientation). You can click yes on 10 ppl per hour and your yes vote is completely confidential; until they say yes to you as well that is :) Check it out if you're interested: let me know if you like it - or if you don't, but let me know why if you don't :) Thanks all, Gabriel |
I just don't even know where to start . . . .

Wtf, this sounds like the Social Network version of the original Facebook.

Hi all,
So we started working on this after fb (obvs) but before either of us saw Social Network (just to clarify that :P) yes ASTalumna06, it is like online speed dating. It's sort of like going to a bar the easy way. What sets us apart from facebook and other social networks is that we maintain anonymity between users until they become friends; even regarding friend requests (yes votes). Unlike facebook, we give you the opportunity to view as many people as you want (like in a bar/any other social event) and to try and say hi. If they don't say hi back, just move on. MysticCat, start by signing up and adding a picture. After that, pplscroll is your oyster. We're working on more functionality for the site but the main idea is to be a simple fast way to match people based on looks (because that's what undeniably starts the majority of relationships; attraction). Also, DrPhil, what does QFP mean? I hope this clarifies/changes the way the site has come off initially. If not I'm open to constructive criticism (i.e. what I can do to make the site better). |
Oh also, in regards to the initial social network thing, i'm pretty sure you don't become friends on it. You just vote yes on people's hotness, this is used for connecting people, not for rating or making them feel bad. The point here is to make people feel good, there is no rejection on pplscroll, only mutual acceptance

Just stop and rethink the whole concept. |

omg i'm so sorry! I'm running on 2 hrs of sleep and I've been studying for a test all night so I'm a bit frazzled.
http://www.pplscroll.com if you want to check it out. Also if a nerdy guy sends a request to a hot girl, he should be a bit more realistic. Most people have a good estimate on their level of attractiveness. The point is if that super hot girl doesnt say yes, he can send requests to other people who suit him more (that he is still attracted too). Whether in real life or on pplscroll, he probably wont get the hot girl unless he's some stellar person deep down inside but even then he wouldnt get much of a chance (irl or on pplscroll). Sorry Latina, but stop and rethink your whole argument ^^ (but be realistic this time) |
wasn't this on MTV and called Next?
|
I've never heard of that, but I will look it up to check.

In other words, stop, be realistic, and rethink why your present idea is going to fail before it starts. Also, try to come up with something a little more original in your next draft. |
