Greek Alumnus Donates $200 Million to USC

David Dornsife, a member of Kappa Alpha Order, has donated $200 million dollars to his alma mater. The gift was designated for the University of Southern California School of Letters, Arts and Sciences. In his honor the university will rename the school, David Dornsife School of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

The Dornsife family had previously donated $21 million to create the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center and to support the ground breaking neuroscience research of Honda Prize holder, Dr. Antonio Damasio.

At SC Dornsife was an active member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was also on the track and field team. Jon Arnett, the late Marlin McKeever and other All Americans were USC Kappa Alphas.

Mr. Dornsife's parents both graduated from the university.

This gift is the largest in USC's history. Up to this time the largest gift was by alumnus, George Lucas, who donated $175 million to build the
new School of Cinematic Arts complex.

That's great! Did I mention that my fiance has been accepted to USC for his graduate program?!?!? We are so excited! He will be able to do it online so, that we can stay in NY. I'm so excited for USC! See, this is another example of how Greeks tend to want to give back to their alma mater because they got so much out of college life. I am someone who constantly gives back to Penn State and when I get my degree from Syracuse, I will be giving back to them, as well. My fiance plans on giving back to USC when he graduates. We support all three schools!

That's a fantastic gift! I'm curious what this guy does for a living. Can I assume because of the family, he might be in medicine?

Shout out to the development team that made that happen. Such donations are very rarely spontaneous and take months and years of cultivation and negotiation.
