2011 Bid Day Themes
 

OK, so I've got some ideas for our bid day in the fall...yes I realize I'm a bit early. I wanted to see what everyone thought about them, and if y'all had anything to add. =)

-Marine/military/camo theme- "first in, last out."
-JailHouse "the chain gang"
-rolling out the red carpet, "star-quality bids"
-flower patch bids (lol) pansy theme
-be a theta, dontcha wanna? (like fanta)
-ThetaAir, Kites are always first class.

I know some of them are a bit cheesy, but I think I could pull them off with the right colors/accessories/etc.

Don't use the rolling out the red carpet, Phi Mu did a pink carpet a few years ago. I really like the ThetaAir also.
And it is not to early to plan, it takes a lot of work, best to get on it early!!!

Theta Air is cute! So is the red carpet one but a lot of people do that. I think Theta Air is a lot more original!

DG at my school played on the military draft/recruitment theme and it was really cute. The shirts were camo and said "you've been drafted."

At first, I liked the military theme (because I like certain aspects of the military) but then I thought the ThetaAir theme was really good but also safer. Could a military draft theme be interpreted differently depending on the school and how people view the military?

Just asking and only you all would know.

At LSU this probably wouldn't be a problem, although the "draft" has a negative connotation with regard to the military.

I love the Theta Air! "Kites Always Fly First Class"

Someone suggested a "Gold Rush" or "Gold Mine" theme to the chapter I advise. Bid day shirts would say something like "We Struck Theta Gold..."
