YAY!!!

Just wanted everybody to know that Kappa Sigma is returning to LSU. They got kicked off of campus a few years ago and the university recently decided to let them recolonize. If I find the link for the article I will post it.

Best of luck to the Kappa Sig chapter at LSU.

Congrats Kappa Sigma http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif I have many Kappa Sig friends here at Iowa and I know they'll be thrilled! Hey Tigergirl - is SAE back at LSU yet? If not, any chance of hem coming back?

TigerGirl 04-07-2001 09:18 PM

IowaHawkeye--To answer your question...no SAE isn't back yet. I haven't heard of any plans for them to come back. I would love to see that happen though. Unfortunately there's been a lot of greek bashing going on around here lately. It seems like everytime I turn around someone's writing an editorial or an article in the student newspaper about how they THINK the greeks here are bad. But hey...I'll post more about that later.

That is why every chapter needs to be sure to stay in contact with media, like student newspapers, and suggest story ideas that revolve around the good things we do. Student newspapers here at Miami University have covered our big philanthropy as well as our open initiation ceremony. The reason only bad stuff usually gets printed is because chapters don't take the initiative to publicize the good they do other than maybe signs on campus or flyers.

yep - gamma chapter (chartered in 1887) was recolonized in february, with 80 new pledges. I guess they're going strong - initiation is set for the fall - pretty solid to have such an old charter reissued, especially at LSU.

Good luck, gentlemen.

BrianMUDU- are you in Florida or Oxford? I always mix the two up. If you're in Oxford, I'm at the University of Cincinnat. That'd be cool to have someone near by.
