Miss me? hee hee I am around, just really busy. Well we had officer elections and so after this Sunday I will just be another member!! YEAH!! NO MORE OFFICEs, NO MORE NOTEBOOKS, NO MORE EC MEETINGS TAKING YEARS! I feel relieved and excited. Our chapter has a great group taking over. I am very confident in them and I think we will be asking approx 9 women to join our sister hood in the next few days. Let me just give you all some backround. When I joined we had 60 members including new members, we dropped down to 26 returning members for rush in 2000 and now we have 53 members. With the 9 new women that puts us at 62 and next semester we intend on getting 15 more which puts us at 77. Since we will only lost 7 people come May we will return for rush with 70 sisters, the most since 1995. Congrats! And yeah!! That means we are going to do so well! I am really excited about everything.
So that is the update on Theta Iota. Things are really getting better. The women that we are bidding are really quality too. They are girls that didn't really now about sororities and rush and are really excited and ready. Well I am going to work. Love you guyS!
Sarah

Great to see you back Sarah!!
I'm glad to hear that things at your chapter are doing well. Exciting stuff!

AGDLynn 11-14-2001 06:35 PM

Wonderful!

Gamma Tau has elections on Oct. 19th. I'm sure there are many sisters around the US/Canada that feel the same as you do.

I know that GTau's new officers will be terrific..just like the current ones.

Glad to know your chapter is doing great! GTau just initiated 21 (?) beautiful sisters. :)

Congratulations Sarah!

Our initiation is on Saturday, so this week has been a very busy one for Delta Sigma!

I turned in my letter to EC requesting alumna status, and after much discussion (heehee they didn't want me to leave) they approved my request. Just knowing that they appreciate me that much feels so awesome.

Our elections will be held in two weeks...and it feels great to see our members (and soon to be members) excited about what offices they want for next year!

what about me?!

speaking of didja ... didj'all miss me too?? I've been hovering but haven't posted in awhile - figured now was as good a time as any! ;)

I am pleased to say that Delta Zeta will be welcoming 17 wonderful initiates into our sisterhood this Sunday morning, including my little's little!!

Congratulations to Delta Sigma (hi OTW!!), Gamma Tau, Theta Iota & AGD chapters everywhere as we welcome new sisters into our AGD family :D

Please continue to share your initiation & election successes with all of us here ... FYI - Delta Zeta holds its elections in February

OTW - welcome to alumna life ... it only gets better ;)

Poop!

So, I just found out my lil sis and I will be running against each other for VP Recruitment. This sucks. She was COB coordinator this past year but has only been through recruiment once, as an active member. I've been through it three time: new member, active member, and Rho Chi. I don't want her to loose but I want the position very badly. :( I'll let you girls know what happens after elections.

Leslie, things usually have a way of working out for the best. I am sure that everything will be fine! Please do let us know what happens, because I want to know if you will be implementing Alpha Gams Around The World this year! Love that theme, LOL.

LeslieAGD 11-15-2001 01:02 PM

Maria, I would LOVE to impliment that theme!!! It would be so much fun!

Welcome back Jen and Sarah http://www.plaudersmilies.de/party/dance.gif

And Lesile I wouldnt worry about it, Im sure all things will work out for ya.

ilovemyglo 11-15-2001 03:36 PM

Hey! Well, Leslie, this year we had that happen. Two women were running against each other big/lil and the big ended up dropping her name from the list (I am not saying do that). In the end the right person got the job.
Funny anticdote about VP Recruitment.
My big sister was VPR when I joined. She adopted a little, Caroline, who was VPR in 2000. I was VPR this year and my little ran for VPR but since she couldn't live in the house she had to remove her name from the list. How weird, huh? It's a family thing.
Just a funny thought!
Sarah

Sarah, my lil sis is actually the VP Scholarship right now and her lil sis is VP Finance, so if I got VP Recruitment and they "kept" their positions we would all be on EC together.

AlphaGam1019 11-16-2001 11:13 AM

Leslie, all I have to say is seniority. I think the years going through recruitment should give you an edge over your lil! :D

Too bad that argument doesn't work for everything! I only have four girls in front of me in initiation order.

You know what

It will all work itself out. There is a reason to be here. If your little makes it, that tells me
•1. You raised her well.
• 2. She'll be clever enough to keep you in the loop and holler if there are problems.
cheers
