FSU Sophomore Rush
Hey everyone, I go to Florida State University :) I didn't rush as a freshman but really wished i did. i have pretty much decided that this august, i will try rushing as a sophomore. I heard that they generally take less sophomores, but does anyone know how true this is at FSU? I have two recommendations for my top choice sorority, what else would you recommend to help take some of the stress off? And any advice in what sororities want in specifically sophomore rushees? and if you have any other advice or info, feel free to throw that in here as well :) thanks!!

Try the search function on GreekChat for FSU + recruitment + sophomores. :-)

the first thing i would recommend is that you throw out any ideas of "favorite" sorority. i know that is awfully hard to do when you have had a year(almost) to observe everybody, but believe me, it will be best if you can truly give every group a fair chance.
you will need recommendations to all sororities on campus. do you have any friends in fsu sororities?it's okay to let them know right now that you are going to rush in the fall. Maybe they will invite you over for lunch or dinner. you will be a sophomore when you rush, so your activities from highschool will not be considered. if you have not gotten involved on campus, find a club or organization that interests you and join it. it may have some sorority members who are members-mores the better. how are your grades? most chapters are looking for women with at least a 3.0, if not higher. you can find a home as a sophomore at fsu, but you are more likely to be successful if you have recommendations(a must), good grades, involvement on campus, a clean reputation & an activity or two on campus. it never hurts to have some friends who are sorority members. the most important thing is to keep an open mind and roll with the punches and give each chapter a fair chance. go noles! |
okay thanks everyone, i didn't mean to imply that i would be close-minded, it's just i have had family from this one, and have just heard so many great things about it. i am not, by any means, only interested in joining that one, i am much more interested in finding one that i genuinely want to be in and that genuinely wants me

If you qualify as a legacy (check the particular legacy policy for that org), be sure that your relative fills out a legacy information form and sends it to the chapter.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
