Can't Be Friends With Different Sorors/Frats?

Hi Guys, New Here Just to give a greeting, Im Karina :]
Now, just to clear things up i'm not even in a sorority yet.
Not even in college, [1 More Year to go]
But, i've heard stories about how being friends with anyone outside of your sisterhood is frowned upon.
Paticularly being an AKA and being friends with a DST or Vice versa.
Ooo & Don't even get me started with dating frat members.

But anyway, Is this true? Does your sorority or fraternity look down on being friends outside of your clique? Be honest.

OK just because I feel like answering this question for other people, so this is a more general than NPHC answer.

Be friends with who you like.

Joining a GLO may change who you are friends with because you'll be spending more time with your chapter and consequently may spend less time with your other friends.

Some chapters or individuals may be even more cliquish and pressure you to be friends with only people they approve of, this is true of any group not just a sorority or fraternity.

From there it's up to you, be friends with who you want to be friends with and don't worry about whether others look down on you or not.

^ Excellent advice.

It really depends on the culture of the organization, but at the end of it, it all comes down to: whatever the situation is, your organization should not dictate who you become friends with. However, it can influence the situation. If the culture gives you serious trouble in terms of who you can be friends with, perhaps it's not necessarily the right organization for you.

Not even in college, [1 More Year to go--so why am I worrying about sorority stuff?]

Fixed your post for you.

Yes, sorority and fraternity affiliation prevents being friends outside of your clique. Now, go finish your homework so you can get to bed soon.

Yep, you missed the Auxiliaries trying to strike back.

Learn something new though, Delta gents and Zeta knights actually incorporated some time ago...but they gone now.

The "bitch" was all that this particular troll posted in this thread. I QFP'd a couple of its other posts, but the others weren't even worth it.
