THON 2011 ♥ Together Without Limits

This weekend all of our hard work pays off in a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance maraTHON for the kids! For those of you who don't know, THON is the world's largest run student philanthropy. About 15,000 Penn State students participate in THON every year, and last year with the support of our alumni, families, and the communities that host us on canning weekends, we raised $7.8 million for The Four Diamonds fund at Hershey Medical Center that provides financial support to families who otherwise would not be able to afford cancer treatment for their children.

If you would like to see more, you can go to the THON Website where there will be a live video feed of the event for the full 46 hours. Please check it out! It is not to late to donate either, and if you feel moved to do so, there will be a link on thon.org that will lead the way!

I know this is a double post but, I wanted to tell everyone that I believe THON encompasses everything that ALL of our Greek organizations stands for!

I've been watching this for a while now, and this has to be the most aspiring thing I have ever seen. Penn State is amazing!

But, they raised over $9.5 million at THON!!!! Congrats Penn State!

I'm so excited and proud of my school, today! My livefeed cut out so, I couldn't see who the top 10 GLOs were that raised the most money. I only saw the top five. I want to know whether or not Phi Mu made it in the top 10 this year!

I wanted to update by saying that Phi Mu ranked 9th place! We did it, again!

We all know we were hoping to break $8 Million...
BUT WE RAISED OVER $9.5 MILLION FOR THE KIDS!

When I was there, we though $100k was pretty great

But $9.5 million? In a single year? Damn.

It's awesome to see how much THON has grown in a single year, but even more awesome to see how it's grown over the years.

Now, the top Greek Life Org (ATO/ZTA) and the top general org (Atlas) raised over 300,000 themselves individually. The outcome this year was absolutely shocking. If there weren't pictures, I'd think I was delusional from lack of sleep!

Congrats to all!! And a special shout out to the Zeta ladies---rocking #1 again this year! Z<3

Thank you all for all of your support! I know I've been super crazy posting in this thread, but I just watched a video of the total being raised for the first time and it was amazing.
Feel free to check it out. It really shows the excitement and pride in this year's total.
If you listen carefully there is just a short pause where everyone was dumbstruck right when the 9 was raised.
