What IS Kite and Key?

Our campus is really lacking Panhellenic cohesion, and I thought a possible idea would be to bring Kite and Key to our campus. Or, we have DG, Theta AND KKG, so we could do Kite, Key and Anchor too. I've only heard these things described as "Formal with Kappa/Theta/DG", but is there anything else to them? Or is it just a cute name for a combined formal?

I saw it online described as themed date party...? Can anyone tell me anything more specific?

On our campus it was a combined formal, but you can probably make it whatever you want. I don't think it's set in stone.

Yes, on our campus it was a combined party. We did ours as a combined Crush Mixer instead of formal, but nothing is really set in stone. The t-shirts always wind up cute.. a kite flying with a key on the string.

Really, there is nothing (that I know of) more specific than just using the name and making it a combined event. We also had Pansy Duo with Tri Delta and the Pi Phis and Kappas frequently did Monmouth Duo.

Some campuses do not do combined parties, but I always loved it. And yes, I do think that it helps build some cohesion.

The significance of Theta & Kappa doing a formal or party together is to recognize and celebrate that Theta & Kappa are the first two Greek letter organizations (actually fraternities. not sororities) established for women, in 1870 :)
