Omega Marches on Auburn
Sigma Delta Chapter at Auburn University will hold a rally and panel
discussion (public forum) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at 6:00pm CST at Foy Union Building (Student Union) on Auburn University Campus, Auburn, Alabama. Lloyd Jordan, Grand Basileus will be on the panel that will discuss the recent incident at Auburn University that reflected negative on the fraternity, African Americans and this nation. We need brothers to support this event and come to Auburn in numbers. Our presence in volume will send a message of our dissatisfaction with the situation. The Grand Basileus has been working with other organization leaders (Rainbow/PUSH, NAACP, Southern Poverty Law Center, and AL Legislators) in order to address our concerns with the situation and demanding immediate action. Remember, all of America is watching and we will voice our concerns in a professional manner and keep the fraternity's reputation at the highest level. Omega has faced opposition before and has withstood the test for ninety years. This event has only allowed Omega to step up to the front line once again and prove to "white" America the difference between a man and a boy.
I got your back 100% bruhs' . Rooo-Oop! I'm OWT!! |
Let's not say "white" America...let's say "racist" Amerikkka.
I wish I could be there to witness this monumental event. I heard the bruhs were supposed to be on the "Today Show" or something like that the other morning...I missed it...was Jesse on there, too...can someone tell me if they saw it. |
Greetings Sorors and Bruhs,
I had the opportunity to attend the rally last night on the campus of Auburn University. It was very informative and uplifting. The panel and audience had the opportunity to address the president of the university. And I must say that they caught him off gaurd. The horrible incident that sparked this controversy was the not the entire focus of the rally. We (audience) dug deeper and also discussed other race relations on the campus ranging from the recruitment process to the numbers of African- American faculty. Lloyd Jordan, Grand Basileus said some very powerful and encouraging words last night. While there, I felt the love not just among the bruhs but between BGLO's and African-Americans as a whole. Although I am not a student at Auburn ( I attend Alabama State in Montgomery,45 miles from AU), I felt compelled to attend. It's just all part of the black struggle in America. Here we are in the year 2001 and we are still confronted with these issues. We had just found out about the rally at like 4pm. I really enjoyed myself. If you missed it then you missed a VERY VERY moving event. Thanks |
DeltaGirl, thank you for your involvement and participation. I am glad that Omega has such a dynamic leader and that the true spirit of Greek Unity was in effect last night. Auburn will never forget and drastic changes are being made as a result. Power respects only power and power concedes nothing without struggle.
